About Brinsley Square Meaters
Brinsley Square Meaters was established by Deb and Tony Cotter in March 2000 and is currently run over two holdings in the productive Hawkesbury Valley approx 1 hour North West of Sydney.
Cattle numbers have continued to increase steadily over the years to reach in excess of 100 mainly purebred Square Meaters. By sourcing only top quality genetics as the basis for the foundation herd and continuing to place strict selection criteria on all of the resultant progeny, Brinsley has established themselves as one of the leading Square Meaters studs in Australia.
The main herd is grazed on the larger of the properties, “Lilburndale” at Sackville. This historic circa 1830 property originally belonged to one of the earliest settlers in the district and now covers 1100 acres with deepwater frontage to the Hawkesbury River.

"Lilburndale" extends along a 6.5 km valley and consists of a mix of alluvial river flats, on which an extensive pasture improvement program has begun, sandstone escarpments, wetlands (including conservation areas) and unimproved valley grazing. Natural pastures are a mix of kikuyu, paspalum, white clovers, microlena and bull couch.

The balance of the cattle is kept nearby on the home property “Brinsley Hall” at Freemans Reach which consists of 52 acres. It is here that all of the show preparation takes place.
“Brinsley Square Meaters aims to produce genetically superior, structurally sound cattle that will continue to perform reproductively and efficiently while run under commercial conditions.”
